International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP)

What is International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP)?

The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) offers emerging leaders a three-week professional exchange experience in the United States, providing in-depth exposure to U.S. institutions, society, and culture. The program is designed to build lasting professional connections and mutual understanding between the U.S. and participating countries.

Who is eligible for IVLP?

Participation is strictly by nomination from the U.S. Embassy, and there is no open application process. While the exact number of Ugandan participants is not publicly disclosed, the program continues to identify and support high-potential individuals in fields such as governance, education, health, business, and civil society.

Eligible nominees are typically early- to mid-career professionals under 45 years old, who demonstrate leadership potential and influence in their field, possess strong English skills, and have a track record of national or regional impact. The program prioritizes individuals who can engage meaningfully in cross-cultural and policy-level discussions.
