What we collect
- Membership applications: name, email, phone, district, exchange programme and year, cluster, profession, organisation and LinkedIn link.
- Donations and pledges: name, email, phone, organisation, amount and message. Card and mobile money details are entered on Pesapal’s secure pages; USEA never sees or stores them.
- Shop orders: name, contact details and order details.
- Event registrations, contact messages and newsletter sign-ups: the details you enter in the form.
- Analytics: if you accept cookies, anonymous information about how the site is used (Google Analytics).
How we use it
- To manage membership and the alumni directory (only if you choose to be listed).
- To process donations, pledges and orders, send receipts and report back on projects.
- To manage event registrations and reply to messages.
- To send the newsletter, only after you confirm your subscription.
We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and process payments (such as our hosting provider and Pesapal), or where the law requires it.
The alumni directory
Approved members can choose to be listed. The directory shows name, programme and year, cluster, profession, organisation and LinkedIn link. Email addresses and phone numbers are never shown.
How long we keep it
Membership details are kept while you are a member. Financial records are kept as long as the law requires for accounting. Other information is deleted when it is no longer needed.
