Donations and Refunds

Thank you for supporting USEA projects. These terms apply to donations made online through this website and to pledges made on project pages.

Online donations

• Donations are processed securely by Pesapal in Uganda shillings (UGX) by Visa, Mastercard, MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money.
• A donation is recorded only when Pesapal confirms the payment. You receive an email receipt with a reference.
• Donations go to the project you chose and are used for the purposes described on its page. If a project raises more than it needs, or cannot go ahead, USEA will use the funds for a similar alumni project and say so in its project report.
• If you ask to donate anonymously, your name is not shown on the website. The USEA office still keeps your details for its financial records.

Pledges

A pledge is a promise of money, goods, services or time. Nothing is charged online. The USEA office contacts you to arrange it, and a pledge counts towards a project’s total only once the office has confirmed receipt.

Refunds

If you made a mistake, for example a wrong amount or a duplicate payment, contact us within 14 days of the donation with your receipt reference and we will refund it to the original payment method. Other refund requests are considered case by case. Pesapal or your bank may take a few working days to return the money.
